Step 1 — Match the charger to your car
Every EV has a maximum AC charging speed set by its onboard charger. A 7.4kW car charges at 7.4kW even on a 22kW charger. Most EVs in Singapore accept 7.4kW or 11kW; a few (and future models) accept 22kW.
- 7.4kW onboard → 7.4kW charger is enough
- 11kW onboard → 11kW (or 22kW to future-proof)
- 22kW onboard → 22kW for the fastest home charging
Step 2 — Check your home's power supply
