About Omoda
The Omoda EV Charger is made in China and sold here as a Type 2 wallbox in 7.4kW and 22kW. The build is good, in a solid ABS housing, but what people notice first is the shape: a white, three-pointed triangle with a circular illuminated centre and the cable coiled beneath it. We have fitted it on plain walls, inside wall enclosures, in a corner beside a carriage lamp, at the end of an interior hallway, and inside an open steel enclosure by a gate. It is a design-led unit, and that is a large part of why people pick it.
Be clear about what it does not do. There is no WiFi and no app, so you cannot schedule a charge from your phone or watch a session from indoors. Access is by RFID card, and the smart side of it is load balancing — enough to share a supply sensibly, but not the app control Autel or Wallbox give you. There is also no 7-metre cable option, so the charger has to sit within reach of your car's charging port. We check that on site before anyone commits to a position.
If you have landed here because you drive an Omoda or a Chery — they are related marques — the name is not a requirement in either direction. Every AC charger sold in Singapore uses Type 2, so any brand we fit will charge your car, and this charger will charge any EV, not only an Omoda. The number that decides the size is your car's onboard AC limit. The Omoda E5 tops out at 11kW, so a 22kW unit will not fill it any faster than 11kW, and for many homes the 7.4kW version is the sensible choice. We will tell you which, based on your car and your supply.

Which EV charger fits an Omoda?
Any of them. Every AC charger sold in Singapore uses the Type 2 connector, and Omoda cars are no exception, so the decision is about build, features, warranty and support rather than fitment. The one figure worth checking is your car's onboard AC limit — an Omoda E5 accepts 11kW, so a 22kW charger will not charge it any faster than 11kW. We confirm the right size against your car and your supply before we quote.
Do I need the Omoda charger if I drive an Omoda?
No. It is a charger brand we stock, not a required accessory, and nothing about an Omoda or Chery car obliges you to buy the matching unit. Some owners choose it because they like the match and the look. Others end up on a different brand because they want an app or a longer cable. If warranty length is what decides it, ask us to put the brands side by side on the chart.
Will the Omoda charger work with a BYD, Tesla or BMW?
Yes. It is a Type 2 AC charger, the same connector every EV sold in Singapore uses, so the badge on the charger and the badge on the car do not have to match. We size the unit to your car's onboard AC limit and to what your electrical supply can carry.
Does the Omoda charger have an app?
No. There is no WiFi and no app. Charging is started with an RFID card, and the smart feature is load balancing. If phone scheduling or remote start matter to you, we will point you at Autel or Wallbox instead. That is a fair reason to choose a different brand, and we would rather say so now than after it is on your wall.
Should I choose the 7.4kW or the 22kW version?
It depends on your electrical supply and on what your car can accept. The 22kW version normally calls for a three-phase supply, and the extra capacity only helps if the car can use it — an Omoda E5 caps AC charging at 11kW, so it would sit unused. We check the board, the car and the cable run before recommending one, and we will tell you when the smaller unit is the right answer.
