Charge N Go — EV charging, solar & storage
Free site survey

One visit. One person. A quote before they leave.

Most installers send a salesperson first, someone to measure second, and a technician third — before any work starts. Our surveyor does all three in one visit: checks the supply, specs the cable run and quotes you on the spot.

  • One visit, not three
  • Measured and quoted on the spot
  • Supply, load & cable route checked
  • Free & no-obligation
Why this is different

Three separate visits, or one

The usual pattern is a salesperson who cannot measure, then a second person sent out to measure, then a third to check the electrical work — and a quote that arrives days after the last of them has gone. Customers have told us about surveyors who turned up, said almost nothing, and left again without explaining what happens next.

Our surveyors are trained to do the whole job in one visit. They check the board, walk and measure the cable run, and put a firm number in front of you before they leave — usually inside half an hour.

On-site, no obligation

What happens in a free site survey

The survey is how we avoid surprises on installation day. A technician comes to your home, opens your distribution board, and checks whether your supply is single-phase or three-phase and how much spare capacity is left for a charger.

We then walk the cable route from the board to where you park. We measure the distance, note whether the run is exposed to the weather or needs trunking, and agree the safest place to mount the unit. You get honest advice on which charger and power level suit your car. We will not sell you a speed your car cannot use.

  • Takes about 30–45 minutes
  • Checks supply, route & mounting
  • Honest charger sizing
  • Clear quote, no obligation

The process

From enquiry to a charged car

  1. 1

    Enquiry

Tell us your car model, your postcode and where you park. Message us on WhatsApp or the form and we respond within the hour during business hours to arrange a visit.

  2. 2

    Free on-site survey

A technician visits your home, checks your incoming supply and spare capacity, plans the cable route and confirms the mounting spot — usually done in 30–45 minutes.

  3. 3

    Transparent quote

You get a quote with every cost listed: the charger, the installation, any work on the distribution board or trunking, and the LTA registration fee. Nothing hidden, and no obligation.

  4. 4

    Install & Certificate of Fitness

Once you approve, a Licensed Electrical Worker installs your charger — most in a single visit — and hands over the Certificate of Fitness. Typical turnaround is 1–3 days.

Before and during the visit

What we check, and what to have ready

A quick, thorough survey means an accurate quote and a smooth install. Here is exactly what we look at on-site, and the few things that help us move faster.

What we check on-site

  • Incoming supply & spare capacity — single- or three-phase, and how much headroom your main board has
  • Distribution board / consumer unit — space for a new circuit breaker and RCD protection
  • Cable route & distance — the neatest, safest run from the DB to your parking spot
  • Mounting location — a solid, sensible spot within reach of your charging port
  • Weather exposure — whether an outdoor unit needs an IP65-rated, weatherproof charger
  • Earthing & protection — proper earthing and RCD/RCBO for a TR25-compliant install

The board comes first. Everything else on this list — the breaker, the cable route, the charger you can actually be sold — follows from what the supply will carry.

What to have ready

  • Your car model — so we can confirm the AC charging speed it actually accepts
  • Where you park — the exact bay or spot you want to charge at
  • Access to the DB — so we can inspect your distribution board and supply
  • Any preferred charger or brand — tell us and we will factor it into the quote

  • A wood-grain HiCi charger above a white cable rail that runs to an isolator.
  • A black NEG charger with its supply run in white conduit to an isolator on the right.
  • A wood-grain HiCi charger with white conduit entering from the side and the cable coiled beneath.

Frequently asked questions

Is the survey really free?

Yes. Both the on-site survey and the written quote are completely free and no-obligation. We only ask for your time — there is nothing to pay to have us assess your home and recommend the right charger.

Do I need to be home?

Someone over 18 has to be there to let us reach your parking spot and your distribution board. It does not have to be you. A family member, tenant or helper is fine. For condos and shared premises, please arrange access with management or security beforehand.

What if my supply isn't enough?

It is rarely a dead end. If your spare capacity is tight, we can fit a charger with dynamic load management that automatically limits power so you never trip your main, or advise on a DB upgrade. We explain the options and costs clearly before anything is booked.

Is there any cost if I don't proceed?

No. If you decide not to go ahead after the survey and quote, you owe nothing. There is no call-out fee and no obligation to buy — the assessment is genuinely free.

How long does the survey take?

Usually about 30–45 minutes for a typical home. Longer cable runs, three-phase boards or condo common-area installs can take a little more time to assess properly.

What should I prepare?

Have your car model ready, so we can confirm the charging speed it accepts. Know where you want to park and charge. Make sure we can reach your distribution board. If you already have a charger or brand in mind, tell us and we will work it into the quote.
